Frequently Asked

Questions

You have questions. That is not hesitation. It is a sign you are taking this seriously, which means you are already approaching this the right way. The answers below cover the most common things women ask before booking their first session with Gina. If your question is not here, reach out through the contact page.

Coaching Basics

Understanding the foundation of our work together.

What is life coaching & what does it actually involve?

Life coaching is a structured, one-on-one process focused on helping a person move from where they are to where they want to be. It involves honest conversation, guided reflection, practical tools, and consistent accountability. Sessions with Gina are built around real conversation, not scripted exercises or generic programs. The work is forward-focused and built entirely around you.

What is the difference between coaching & therapy?

Therapy is a clinical process conducted by a licensed mental health professional. It often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions and processing trauma at a clinical level. Coaching is not therapy and does not replace it. Coaching focuses on the present and future, on building clarity, confidence, and direction. Many women work with both a therapist and a coach at the same time, addressing different dimensions of their growth in each space.

How is Gina's coaching different from other coaches?

Gina brings professional training and lived personal experience with the exact terrain her clients are navigating. She has done her own healing work. She has rebuilt her own sense of self after significant loss. She does not approach clients from a clinical distance or with a one-size-fits-all program. Every client’s process is built around who she actually is and what she actually needs.

What is the 3 R's Framework & how does it work?

The 3 R’s Framework is the foundation of all coaching at When She Speaks… Listen. Reconnect focuses on getting honest about where a client is and what she is carrying. Rebuild focuses on constructing a new sense of identity and direction from the inside out. Rise focuses on moving through the world as that rebuilt version of herself with intention and accountability. Gina adapts the framework to each client’s pace and circumstances. It is a guide, not a rigid program.

What areas does Gina specialize in?

Gina works with women navigating life transitions, grief and loss, divorce and separation recovery, confidence rebuilding, identity loss, single motherhood, and mindset and wellness. She also works with men navigating grief. The common thread is the experience of losing yourself inside a difficult circumstance and the work of finding your way back. If you are unsure if your situation fits, reach out and she will tell you honestly.

Does Gina work with men?

Yes. While most of Gina’s clients are women, she works with men navigating grief and significant loss. She approaches this work with specific attention to how men actually experience and process grief rather than applying frameworks built around different emotional expression styles.

Can coaching help if I have been struggling for a long time?

Yes. Many of Gina’s clients come in having been stuck for months or years. The length of time you have been struggling does not determine if coaching can help. What matters is where you are now and what you are ready to do about it. If you have been in this a long time, that is not a reason to doubt if things can change. It may simply mean the right support has not been available until now.

What if I have tried coaching before & it did not help?

Not all coaching is the same, and not all coaching relationships are the right fit. If a previous experience felt generic or surface-level, that is worth naming. Gina’s approach is built around the opposite of that. She listens first, personalizes consistently, and does not rush the work into a predetermined structure. If you would like to have a conversation before committing to sessions, reach out and she will talk with you about if this is the right fit.

Investment & Pricing

Details on the financial commitment for your growth.

How much does coaching with Gina cost?

Coaching investment varies depending on the format and duration of the engagement. One-on-one coaching, group coaching circles, and individual sessions are each priced differently. Reach out through the contact page to request current pricing and availability. Gina believes in transparent conversations about investment and will walk you through the options clearly.

Does Gina offer payment plans?

Yes. Gina takes financial accessibility seriously because she believes cost should not be the reason a woman does not get support she genuinely needs. Reach out through the contact page to discuss what is available and what might work for your situation.

Is coaching covered by insurance?

Life coaching is not typically covered by health insurance because it is not a clinical service. If you have a health savings account or flexible spending account, coaching may be an eligible expense depending on your plan. Check with your benefits provider for specifics.

What is the difference in cost between 1:1 coaching & group coaching?

Group coaching circles are priced at a lower investment than one-on-one coaching, making them a more accessible entry point. One-on-one coaching carries a higher investment because of the fully personalized attention and direct relationship with Gina. Both formats produce real results. Reach out to discuss which option makes the most sense for where you are.

What is your refund policy?

Refund and cancellation policies are outlined in the coaching agreement signed before sessions begin. Gina handles these situations with care and on a case-by-case basis when circumstances warrant. If you have concerns about this before beginning, raise them directly and they will be addressed transparently.

Do workshops & speaking engagements have different pricing?

Yes. Speaking and workshop pricing depends on the format, event length, audience size, travel requirements, and content customization involved. Reach out through the contact page with details about your event and Gina’s team will follow up to discuss specifics.

Session Details

Details on the financial commitment for your growth.

How long is each coaching session?

Standard one-on-one coaching sessions are sixty minutes. The session length allows enough time for real conversation and meaningful work without becoming exhausting. Gina uses the time intentionally.

How often will we meet?

Most clients meet with Gina weekly or biweekly. Weekly sessions tend to build momentum faster. Biweekly sessions work well for clients who need more time between sessions to implement what emerges in the work. Gina will discuss the recommended cadence for your situation during the intake process.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on what you are working through and your pace through the framework. Some clients complete meaningful work in three months. Others benefit from six months or more. Gina does not keep clients in coaching longer than the work requires, nor does she rush through real work to hit an arbitrary endpoint. This becomes clearer after the first few sessions.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are conducted virtually. All you need is a reliable internet connection, a private space where you can speak freely, and sixty minutes of protected time. The virtual format removes logistical barriers and allows women anywhere to access support.

What do I need to do between sessions?

Between sessions, clients receive reflection prompts, practical exercises, or specific actions that build on what emerged in the conversation. These are not overwhelming assignments. They are intentional invitations to continue the work in daily life. The clients who get the most from coaching stay engaged between sessions rather than waiting for the next call.

Can I contact Gina between sessions?

Between-session communication varies depending on the package and is outlined in the coaching agreement. Some formats include limited messaging support between sessions. If this matters to you, raise it when discussing packages so the right structure can be set up from the start.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?

Cancellation and rescheduling policies are outlined in the coaching agreement. Advance notice is generally requested. If something comes up that requires a change, reaching out as early as possible is always the right move.

Can I do more than one type of coaching at the same time?

Some clients combine formats, for example participating in a group coaching circle while also doing one-on-one sessions. Whether that makes sense depends on your bandwidth, goals, and financial situation. Gina will give you an honest assessment of what would best serve your specific situation.

Emotional Readiness

Navigating the internal landscape before we begin.

How do I know if I am ready for coaching?

Readiness does not require having it all together or knowing exactly what you want. It requires a willingness to be honest, a genuine desire for things to be different, and enough stability to engage in conversation and take action between sessions. If you are asking if you are ready, you are probably closer to ready than you think.

What if I am not sure what I need or want from coaching?

Not knowing what you need is one of the most common starting points. You do not need to arrive with a clear goal. You need to arrive honestly. Gina is skilled at helping clients identify what they are actually working with and what they genuinely want, even when that is not clear at the start.

What if I start coaching & it feels like too much?

Gina is attentive to the pace at which each client can engage without becoming overwhelmed. If the work is moving faster than feels sustainable, that is a conversation to have directly with her and she will adjust. The work is in service of your wellbeing, not at the expense of it

What if I am afraid to talk about what I have been through?

This is very common. Gina does not require you to say everything at once or go anywhere you are not ready to go. The pace is set by you. As the relationship builds and trust deepens, the things that felt too difficult to say at the beginning often become sayable. You do not have to be brave before you begin. Beginning is the brave thing.

Can coaching help even if the people in my life do not support it?

Yes. Coaching is for you, not for the people around you. You do not need anyone else’s permission to invest in your own growth and healing. If seeking support creates conflict in your environment, that is worth discussing with Gina so the coaching process can account for your full circumstances.

What if I start to feel worse before I feel better?

This is a normal part of the healing process and something Gina prepares her clients for. When you begin looking honestly at things that have been avoided, there is often an initial period of feeling more rather than less. This is not a sign that coaching is not working. It is a sign the real work has begun. Gina holds this phase carefully and helps clients move through it with the support needed to keep going.

Is it normal to feel emotional during sessions?

Completely normal. Coaching at When She Speaks… Listen addresses real things, and real things produce real feelings. If you cry, that is fine. If you feel angry, relieved, or something you cannot immediately name, that is fine too. Whatever comes up is material for the work and all of it is held with care.

What is the difference between doing this work & just talking to a friend?

A friend has their own perspective, their own emotional investment in your situation, and their own limits around how much difficulty they can sit with comfortably. Gina has none of those things. She has no stake in any particular outcome for your life. She holds space for exactly what you are experiencing and asks questions designed to help you find your own clarity. That is a fundamentally different kind of support from friendship and it produces different results.
